Is a 1099-K all profit?

No. It is gross payments. Expenses, fees, mileage, and the home office come off before income tax and self-employment tax.

Do you invent deductions?

No. Cora only uses figures on your return. Suggestions say you may qualify, and they wait for a number you enter.

What does a 1099 return cost?

The base federal W-2 price is $59.99. Schedule C is $24.99 per business and includes Schedule SE. A vehicle is $9.99. Cora, your tax-prep guide, prepares the return. You confirm every figure before you sign.

Can you keep the books?

Not yet. Monthly bookkeeping is coming soon, and there is no charge until it opens. Ask Cora to add you to the waitlist. Today the free Books tool in your account organizes income and expenses, and posted books move onto the return, so you do not type them twice.

What do I need before I start?

A photo or PDF of each W-2 or 1099, last year's AGI or an IRS IP PIN, and the bank routing number only if you want direct deposit. You can type the numbers if a photo will not read.

Can I stop and come back?

Yes. A signed-in return is saved on your account, so you can resume on this phone or another device. The estimate on the home page also stays in this browser.

When do I pay?

You see an itemized quote before you pay. A basic federal W-2 return is $59.99. Add-ons are listed on that quote. You pay only when you are ready to file.

Will you text me?

Only sign-in codes, and only when you ask for one. They come from a separate number. Support is by phone and by email at support@filemytaxes.today.

What if the IRS rejects a return later?

Today we prepare the packet and do not transmit it. When a transmitter partner is live, a rejection shows the reason, a fix, and a way to resubmit. Until then the status stays Ready for review – not yet filed with the IRS.

Do you support a state return?

The federal return is prepared here. State tax is not calculated. The review says so plainly instead of inventing a state refund.

How do I check a refund after it is filed?

Use the IRS Where's My Refund tool from the status page. We link it. We do not invent an IRS acceptance date.

Is my SSN typed into the chat?

No. The interview uses a masked field on your account, after you re-enter your password. The chat will not take a Social Security number.

What it feels like

Design clients and a car

Three 1099-NECs, a mileage log, and no W-2. The estimate includes self-employment tax.

Rideshare plus a part-time job

W-2 wages and a 1099-K live on the same return. Social Security tax stops at the wage base.

First year with a profit

The quarterly figure is a planning number, not a filed Form 1040-ES.

Illustrative scenarios. These are not customer reviews.
